There are many ways that you can use the furthering of your education to make more money. You might be able to get a raise from your boss or even get a new position where you work if you show that you’re interested in learning beyond your current position.
While you could go back to college as an adult and get another degree, you don’t have to go into debt to continue learning. There are all sorts of learning options that don’t cost thousands of dollars, and you might even still be able to get some kind of written proof or certification to prove you learned what you did. Here are some of the learning options that mean spending less than what you would on a college degree.
Check Out Webinars/Podcasts
Watching webinars is a great way to feel like you’re in-house for a college lecture. You can find ways to learn about almost anything you want to learn about and make it feel real by taking notes while you watch. Webinars allow you to watch the speaker, and Ted Talks releases some wonderful, inspirational ones as well.
You could also listen to educational podcasts. Podcasts are like radio shows, you get to hear people talking or having a conversation, and you can focus on something else while you listen. It’s kind of like listening to books on tape.
Take An Online Class
You don’t have to sign up for a degree in order to take college courses. You can find online courses, both paid and for free. Some of them even give you certification once you complete the course.
There are so many options in online classes that you can take a course on nearly anything. If you want to learn the history of The Beatles, there is a class for that. Or you could take something like online criminal justice degree in kansas or even learn how to create your own gaming app. The sky’s the limit when it comes to online courses.
Do Some Self-Study
If you don’t feel like you have the time to follow a course outline and focus on something steadily for a couple weeks in order to do an online course, you could simply do some self-study. This is really easy to do and just takes some research. You won’t get a certificate, but you’ll still get the knowledge.
You can do your research online, head to the local library, or order yourself some books from Amazon. Your first step is to figure out what it is you want to learn, then start learning. And by doing self-study you can completely do it on your own time, even on your work lunch break.
