When it comes to making money, especially if you’re looking for ideas outside of your normal job, then what you’re really doing is looking for inspiring resources. And these resources can be in all different kinds of forms – they could be stories, or people, or the result of meditation, or even just a passion that finally burns to the surface of your consciousness.
But, the point is, if you want to make money, you’re better suited to work for it, rather than to imagine that it will just come to you, so by looking into things like personal back stories, TED talks, self-help books, personalized interviews, and deciphering the circumstances of the anonymously well-off – that’s where you’re going to make the most progress toward your goal.
Personal Back Stories
There are lots of people out there who make lots of money. And tons of them are totally willing to share their stories of wealth simply because they can. They’re already made it to a position that they’re comfortable with, and they want to lay out the framework so that you can do the same thing they are. Many times it’s hard work, but it’s better than trying to come up with a method completely on your own!
When you watch TED talks, you can’t help but be inspired. And not surprisingly, many TED talks out there have to deal, at least loosely, with making money (or at least getting the initial money that you need in order to follow your intellectual passions). So by sitting down with a cup of coffee and watching some of the fantastic presentations available, you’ll give yourself a quick, emotional kickstart.
The Self-Help Section
And how about heading to your local bookstore and checking out the self-help best sellers? There’s a reason that they’re best sellers – and that’s because they’ve effectively resonated with people who are trying to reach a certain goal. So, if your goal is to make money, finding making money best-sellers is a no-brainer!
On a different level, you can find people who are willing to talk to you that have achieved the financial goals that you’re trying to make it to. Find someone with a six-figure salary. Ask them how they got there. Talk to someone who started a company. Talk to someone who is happy with their financial situation in a way that you aren’t. Compare notes, and get inspired!
The Anonymously Well-Off
Some of the happiest wealthy people are the ones who are anonymous. They don’t have to deal with the pressure of people like actors or sports stars, and yet they still have the financial backing that they want. By finding these unknown and reverse engineering their success, you may find the inspiration that you’re looking for.
